I find I can make the format/dimension changes I need in LrC so not sure why you go to PS unless you are after specific canvas and image sizing's. With respect to PS, that adds a different dimension to the mix since now you are converting to TIFF or PSD for the exchange. With LrC SR, you can't crop until after SR. You didn't mention anything about cropping unless that's what you meant by going to PS.The point is that the denoise or sharpening offered by one may be good enough to eliminate the need for the other. Just not to the same extent so that you have to buy both. How-to: Learn our recommended workflows to improve the quality of your images with Topaz Photo AI. Keep in mind that both Topaz Denoise and Sharpening also include denoise and sharpening in both.I'd be trying different combinations to see what gives you the best results. Then I typically use the Split View for further slider refinements so I. I use Denoise & Sharpen AI set to the Comparison View b/c it helps me see, for an initial cut, which processing model I prefer. An interesting feature in Topaz Denoise is the choice between multiple different AI models when you’re reducing noise. It’s 80 for the standalone noise reduction software, or 200 for Topaz Photo AI that has additional sharpening and upsampling tools. of Denoise 3.7.2 (I’m on a Win 11 Pro PC). Topaz Denoise AI by Topaz Labs is a well-known noise removal software. Do you want to use LrC's SR or a 3rd party? (Sorry Adobe) CR2 Raw image of mine through the standalone (vs plugin) vers. This allows you to denoise images while actually recovering. DeNoise AI uses a fundamentally new approach called deep learning: after a lengthy process of learning from millions of images, DeNoise AI learned to accurately distinguish between real image detail and noise. That raises the question of increasing resolution at the start or end of your workflow. Noise reduction software has been the same for over a decade - until now. From one article I read " Your computer will put on its thinking cap, crunch a lot of numbers, then produce a new raw file in the Digital Negative (DNG) format that contains the enhanced photo" I mention this because other 3rd party tools will work on the current image with LrC adjustments. One consideration is that the LrC works on the RAW file which really means you likely want to do this first. Some of my thoughts since I can see myself doing the same: Once again: this will be applied to RAW files as the first step. Use normal mode and set denoise to very low value like 3-5 but crank up sharpening to 25-30. An excellent question Let us know how it turns out -) At least AI Denoise 3.1 seems to do a very good job at sharpening when normal mode is applied to RAW images which have little noise to start with.
